Dear SUSC Members,
We hope this message finds you well. As we approach the start of our spring soccer season, we want to take a moment to thank you, our players, families, and volunteers, for your continued patience and understanding during what we know has been a frustrating and uncertain few weeks.
We want to be open with you: SUSC has recently faced some internal staffing challenges that have significantly impacted our ability to prepare for the upcoming season in the way we normally would. These challenges were not anticipated and have created unfortunate delays in team placements, schedule releases, coach communication, and equipment distribution.
We fully recognize the stress this has caused many of you. We know that families are juggling many activities and need time to coordinate logistics like carpools, registrations for other sports, and childcare. We also know our volunteer coaches have been left without the tools and information they need to confidently lead their teams. We are truly sorry for this.
Please know that we are working around the clock, with support from Saskatoon Youth Soccer Inc. (SYSI), to finalize team lists, communicate coaching assignments, and release schedules. Our top priority right now is ensuring that your children can take the field as soon as possible with the best possible support, and that you are kept informed every step of the way.
We also want to assure you that this is not the standard we set for ourselves, and it is certainly not the experience we want to deliver to our families. Up until now, many of you have shared positive stories of what SUSC has meant to your children—and we want to make sure that continues, not just this season, but for years to come.
We are committed to rebuilding from this moment. As part of that, we are actively reviewing how we operate, improving our communication strategies, and ensuring we have the right people in place to better serve our members in both the short and long term. We are also listening to the concerns, the feedback, and the ideas you’ve generously shared with us.
Thank you again for your patience, compassion, and belief in community sport. SUSC has always been about more than just soccer…. it’s about connection, teamwork, and growth, and we will continue working hard to reflect those values in all that we do.
If you have any questions or need additional support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at operations@susc.ca
Sincerely,
Michael Hayduk
